The Influence of Social, Psychological and Security Factors on the Illegal Migration in Libya

Abstract:

Purpose: This study’s main objectives were to find out the impact of security, social, and psychological factors and on the illegal migration among foreign immigration in Libya.

Design/ Method/ Approach: The descriptive-analytical approach was used in this study; it is one of the most used methods in the study of social and human phenomena and because it fits the phenomenon under study. It also examines an existing phenomenon or issue from which information can be answered to answer study questions without the intervention of the researcher. The questionnaire was adopted as a tool for systematic data collection to obtain basic data that serve the study’s objectives and answer its questions. While the questionnaire was designed specifically for the purposes of the current study; It was also distributed to a selected sample of the study population to obtain more information on the impact of illegal immigration on the Libyan-European relations to know their views on the questions of the study.

Findings: Several tests have been conducted for the collected data. The main results found a positive and significant relationship between security reasons and the desire to migrate in the Libyan society. Also, there is a positive and significant relationship between social reasons and the desire to migrate to Libyan society. And finally, there is a positive and significant relationship between psychological reasons and the desire to migrate to Libyan society.
